What to Expect on Your First Visit

If you’re reading this, it’s a safe bet that you’re new to the recreational cannabis world. That’s perfectly normal and we love to help people who have never been to a dispensary before. There are a lot of things that might make you feel nervous about visiting Elevated Roots, but we assure you that there’s nothing to be afraid of.

When you pull into our parking lot, find a place to park. We have ample parking in the front of the building for our guests. You’ll find handicap parking located right by the entrance. Upon inspecting the front of the building, it’s clear that we have your comfort in mind. You’ll see that the doors are clearly labeled with “Entrance” and “Exit” to avoid any confusion.

Fun Fact, the state regulations do not permit any windows that allow someone to see inside the establishment. The idea behind this rule is to prevent anyone from seeing any of the products or displays from the street.

When you enter the door, you’ll be greeted by a friendly face in the ID booth. You’ll be asked for your license or your passport to confirm your age. Have no fear, even though the team uses an ID scanner to ensure that you’re of legal age, no personal information is stored, so your identity is safe.

Since it’s your first visit to Elevated Roots, our team member in the ID booth will explain the layout to you. Our store is different from many of the other dispensaries around the state, and we want to ensure that you feel comfortable navigating our sales floor.

At this point, you’ll be let into the store. Here you’ll be greeted once again by our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Feel free to browse at your own pace, as our menu is visual. We have 6 tables that hold many of the products available for purchase. Here at Elevated Roots, we feel that it’s important for you to know EXACTLY what you’re getting.

The tables are broken down into easy to navigate categories, such as Pre-rolls, Edibles, and of course Flower! Products are taken out of the package so that you can see just what the item will look like before you buy it. Our team is available to you on the sales floor to answer all questions that you may have. Do not hesitate to ask!

When you’ve made your selection, you simply need to speak to a sales floor team member. How do you know who is a team member you ask? These are the people walking around with tablets in their hands. They are there to assist you in placing your order. Once you’ve given the order to the team, they’ll send it off to be filled.

Behind the wall, we have a great team of people working diligently to accurately fill your order. Sometime there are multiple products with the same name that fall into different categories, and these folk are meticulous at picking the right items and getting them ready for you. On top of the accuracy, these folks are fast! Often your order will be ready before you get to the checkout counter.

When you arrive at the check out counter, you’ll be greeted again by another one of our friendly staff members. These fine folks are more than cashiers, as they too are often found on the sales floor answering questions. If you have any further questions about your products, these team members are ready and willing to clarify any concerns you may have. You will need to present your ID once more at this time. They’ll confirm with you that every item in your bag is in fact the items you wanted, and if there are any mistakes, they’ll happily correct them. This is also your last chance to add something before you pay. After standing in line, you may decide that the seltzer you were looking at really is the perfect addition to your order.

Your order will be placed in a bag and the purchase receipt will be attached to the bag in accordance with state law. This is to ensure that you have proper proof of purchase upon leaving our establishment. Please keep the bag sealed until you return home. In Massachusetts an easily accessible or open container of cannabis can get you into a lot of trouble, so be wise and store your purchase in your trunk or locked gloved box. This will ensure that your transporting of cannabis is done in a safe and legal manner.

We hope this takes some of the fear and anxiety out of your first trip to a dispensary. Elevated Roots in Kingston is focused on reducing the stigma of cannabis use, one guest at a time. If you have questions, comments, or concerns about your purchase, please come back and see us and we will work to eliminate all your fears!
